Greendocs Are Proud To Sponsor Local Charity ‘Conwy Mind’

Greendocs are pleased to have sponsored the ‘Walkie Talkie for Conwy Mind’ on the 21st of May as a part of Mind’s The Mindful May Challenge. Mind are one of our neighbours in the Abergele business park, and we wanted to show our support to this important local charity, by sponsoring their latest fundraising event.

All of the walkers wore blue- Mind’s signature colour! Luckily the weather was beautiful for the walkers for the whole day. Overall £687 was raised for Conwy’s Mind, what a success! We are thrilled to work alongside Mind especially during Mental Health Awareness Week. Mind supports Conwy and the surrounding community by helping many struggling with mental health.

The event was a success, one walker said, “what a great walk! It was lovely getting to know others along the way and hear what Conwy Mind means to them. It was a really amazing, feel good day!”

Mind contributes to the community through various events, including, The Community Hub, Talking Therapies Hub, Young People Hub and Mental Health & Wellbeing Portal. Each of these services plays a significant part in helping the community focusing on a wide range of people, providing help to everyone.

The Mindful May Challenge’s aim was to improve mental health as you complete 31 challenges ranging from expressing gratitude to walking mindful miles.

This ‘Walkie Talkie’ event was a 10k walk and talk to improve mental health while helping others by raising funds for Conwy’s Mind. The walk was an amazing opportunity for members of the public to take part in the Mindful May challenge. The event was held at the Great Orme on the 21st of May.

With mental health being the key component of this event, Conwy’s Mind staff volunteers were available for anyone that wanted to talk about mental health - they were there to listen. As we are a sustainable company that believes in doing our part for the planet, Mind asked that everyone wore the Mind blue colour instead of providing tee shirts, to minimise waste.

We’re were happy to take part!
